Kerry also alienated Catholics, another critical voting group in Michigan, with his statements on abortion during the debates. His opposition to the ban on partial-birth abortion and parental-consent requirements is a sure fire loser with ethnic Catholics in Michigan and is a major reason President Bush is winning the Catholic vote in the Detroit News poll by a margin of 51 percent to 39 percent.

I am ashamed to be catholic when I heard your show “priest for life”. BUSH IS NOT PROLIFE. HE IS KILLING PEOPLE RIGHT NOW. What of the PROLIFE of the children being killed in Iraq and Sudan? What of the PROLIFE of our children being killed by the automatic weapons of the National Rifle Association? What about the PROLIFE of Aids children in Africa and the World? What about the PROLIFE of cutting cost to healthcare and policemen while expanding funds to Halliburton and tax breaks for big corporations? What is PROLIFE about a President, CIA and Military complex that LIES to justify a pre-emotively WAR to clobber the rest of the World just to keep America safe from any perceivable threat.

You have to believe that a fetus is a person before you can be against the killing of a child. Beliving a things does not make it so.
Better to err on the side of life I would think.
Genetically a human being is a complete human being from the moment of conception. It takes some sort of faith to believe it is not a human being at any given stage after that, because the genetics do not change. Scientifically/medically a human being is a human being, and not anything else, at the moment of conception.
Although many people will not accept this fact, because then it would mean that the abortions they have had or supported were really murders. Hard thing to live with, being a child murderer.
If we begin to believe that humans are not humans depending on their age, race, gender, etc... then we are really going down a dark backwards path.
Strange how the generation that yelled "baby killers!" at the Vietnam veterans is the same generation that legalized the killing of babies.

Ask any serious embryologist and they will tell you an embryo, a fetus, is a human being.
A couple points here, 36 states have fetal protection laws, so those states have decided that the fetus is a human being. The Lacy Peterson Act is also about the fetus being a human being. If the law has determined it to be a human, why can't the rest of us?
The Germans dehumanized Jews during WWII to get support for their final solution, so did the White slave traders with slavery. I am sure you didn't mean to go down that path, but that is exactly what you are doing.
