Did you mean to post,
Kerry-Supporting Catholic Website..

Because I contacted the Kerry campaign and their policy is not to support any other websites during their campaign. Do you know something they don't know?

Heh, don't worry about it. Deceptive wording is not a mortal sin, so let them shoot their spunk on their people, they probably enjoy swallowing it up.

Shouldn't that read "Catholics" for Kerry?

Shouldn't that read "Catholics" for Kerry? No, I think the original title is appropriate, though intentionally misleading. It's the Bush camp that say, killing some embryos are ok, others are not, death penalty is cool, optional wars are par for the course. Oh, the hypocirsy does not get richer!

You are either not a Catholic or you've not bothered to read about the Hierarchy of Truth, that the Holy Father teaches us. Also as is par for the course, you throw war in with abortion which do not have the same weight at all. Secondly, the embryoes that the President said they could use, were already harvested. He banned the harvesting of anymore. No one is pro-war, but the Church has always allowed for self-defense. It has NEVER allowed abortion. The stem-cell issue is relatively new, but Rome has ruled. They said NO. I am a Roman Catholic, I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as taught to me by the Vicar of Christ. That is what a Roman Catholic does, all others are "catholics". JMJ

Thanks for defining who I am- thanks for giving me the choice between 'not catholic' and 'not read'.

>Also as is par for the course, you throw war in with abortion which do not have the same weight at all.

Well, I'm sure we know how to weigh the killings differently.

>Secondly, the embryoes that the President said they could use, were already harvested. He banned the harvesting of anymore.

Actually, he merely stopped federally funding embryonic stem cell research- there was never a ban. This means that the government condons continuing the research.

>No one is pro-war, but the Church has always allowed for self-defense.

Didn't the Catholic church oppose the war in Iraq?

>It has NEVER allowed abortion.

It has NEVER allowed pre-marital sex, either.

I will not tell you what you are or what you believe. But I'm asking you if you believe all of the teachings of your church and Jesus Christ? It's untenable to be opposed to abortion, but support fertility clinics (where aborted fetuses are thrown away every day).

What a cynic...you're reading way too much into it.

"Didn't the Catholic church oppose the war in Iraq?"

No, the Pope did. However the *Catholic church* allows for disagreement over war.

>"It has NEVER allowed abortion.

It has NEVER allowed pre-marital sex, either."

Faulty argument. Like saying that theft is going to happen anyway, so there shouldn't be laws against it. By that logic we should all just throw in the towel right now.

Then let us disagree when it's convenient for us, like when we want to kill other people.

Actually, there was no logic in that statement; it was meant to show the hypocrisy in trying to argue for the splinter in one's eye, when there might be a log in someone elses (sorta like that Deal Hudson guy).

Perhaps you are a Ghandian then. We believe in this country and the Catechism of OUR church does allow us to defend ourselves. So, if that is a convenience, I would differ with you. It is a survival tactic that we have a right to have. I don't know many Catholics who are Ghandians. If you believe in that lifestyle CHOICE then there are many countries that will take you. The US apparently is not the place for you to live.
