What a wonderful Blog! If I may, the Pope's comment portends a something even darker. It isn't just that gay marriage is evil, which we've all heard before, it's that those pushing the gay marriage agenda are part of a systematic effort to destroy families and man in the name of human rights. I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I'm not. The Pope actually said "It is legitimate and necessary to ask oneself if this is not perhaps part of a new ideology of evil, perhaps more insidious and hidden, which attempts to pit human rights against the family and against man." Thank you for your blog.
what on earth leads you--or lead the pope for that matter--to the bizarre conclusion that equal marriage rights for gays and lesbians somehow "attacks" two-gender marriage? you say that the emerging truth that gays and lesbians deserve--and are now insisting on--equal civil rights is some evil effort cloaked in human rights rhetoric. i say your fear, hate and vicious prejudice is cloaked in one of the most historically corrupt perversions of Christ's teachings. SHAME ON YOU. SHAME ON THE POPE. SHAME ON BUSH. this pope apologized for historical injustices of the catholic church. hopefully the next one will apologize for this one's bigotry and hate.
While it would be understandable for the Catholic institution to denounce gay marriage within their own community, not bless the marriages within their church etc, that does not condone the exclusion of entire groups of people from society as a whole, which you may have not noticed is not the same thing as the church. Gay marriage is not a "systematic effort to destroy families and man" but an effort to make family an inclusive term that includes all of humanity, not just the self righteous fanatics who are destroying the society they pretend to defend with their efforts to define everyone within their own narrow terms.
